Crystal M. Glover, Ph.D. is a health disparities researcher and mixed-methodologist with the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center and an assistant professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences. She received her doctorate in social psychology (major) and neuropsychology (minor) from Howard University in 2008 and her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Louisiana State University in 2001.

Glover completed her postdoctoral research fellowship at the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center in 2011 and received the Carol T. Mowbray Early Career Research Award from the U.S. Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association in 2012. Glover joined Rush University Medical Center in 2013 and joined the RADC in 2016. Glover’s areas of interest include health disparities; intersectionality as a conceptual framework and methodology; social cognitive processes such as attitudes, beliefs and related behaviors; and mixed-methods research.

Her current research focuses on understanding patient decision-making regarding organ donation within disparities populations and patient perceptions of healthy aging among minorities. Glover co-authored a paper in Health Affairs evaluating strategies for reducing health disparities by focusing on various social determinants of health. Another publication identifies and discusses characteristics of Illinois Medicaid patients who continue to visit the emergency department after the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Glover has published both quantitative and qualitative research. She has presented her research findings at international and national scientific meetings. Glover belongs to various professional groups working to address health disparities both nationally and locally.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication.
