    Collapse overview
Clinical interests: Inflammatory myopathies (such as dermatomyositis, immune mediated necrotizing myopathy, anti-synthetase syndrome, polymyositis, and inclusion body myositis), autoimmune interstitial lung diseases, checkpoint inhibitor induced myositis, musculoskeletal ultrasound

Research interests: In general terms, Dr. Saygin's research program aims to improve the quality of life and longevity of individuals with inflammatory myopathies. Dr. Saygin has validated numerous myositis outcome measures including hand-held dynamometry, accelerometers, and PROMIS instruments in order to optimize the assessment of muscle strength and other disease related symptoms such as fatigue, pain, and physical function in both clinical practice and therapeutic trials. In addition to outcome measures, she has a particular interest in clinical trials, classification and response criteria, and data harmonization.

Professional activities: Dr. Saygin currently serves on the board of the International Myositis Society (iMyos), as vice chair of the International Myositis Assessment and Clinical Studies (IMACS) Data Sharing Scientific Interest Group and member of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Committee on Nominations and Appointments and OMERACT Technical Advisory Group.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
